Lipchitz was one of the most notable sculptors who adopted the principles of Cubism and persistently applied them in his works, gaining recognition from both connoisseurs and the general public. Later, moving away from Cubism, he kept his expressiveness and daring approach to form. .Published to coincide with the exhibition in the Moscow Museum of Modern Art, the present edition reflects on the history of sculpture in the 20th century, factors that shaped its development, and Lipchitz's circle of artists and friends, who influenced his approach. Jacques Lipchitz marked a turning point in the perception of art and, along with Pablo Picasso and Marc Chagall, became a symbol of the new art.
